Better late than never, they always say! Dodgeball Alberta wrapped up their 2023 Annual General Meeting virtually at 7:30pm on May 13, 2024. A good turnout of 20 members were present to hear the growth and development that Dodgeball Alberta had gone through in the year of 2023. Some highlights noted by Dodgeball Alberta President, Erica Spitzmacher, were the provincial championship that saw the largest amount of teams participating with 14 and the Western Cloth Combine that saw 31 athletes try out for the three cloth squads with 10 of the athletes from Alberta earning spots.
Two motions were passed that brought in amendments to the bylaws to address deficiencies in Dodgeball Alberta's application to become a recognized society and another that extended the terms of four board positions by one year to ensure that elections during AGMs will not take place for all positions on the same year.
The board elections saw Erica Spitzmacher acclaimed as President for a second term, while new board members Kim Fehr and Rachel Wong will take on the roles of Director of Sport and Player Development and Director or Records, respectively. Fehr was acclaimed in her role, while Wong edged out another candidate for the position.
